Project Scrap Our Stash Update

Image
I've tried! I've tried really hard... I've  been mostly good. I've skipped craft stores even when I was passing right by, but I've had to give in once in a while ;) I've bought some stamps that were on clearance, some rhinestone stickers and some clearance Christmas papers and embellishments. When I had coupons I bought a paper punch and some smooch spritz. I've bought stuff that I know I'm going to use and that was on sale. I guess I'm still trying to build up my stash on certain things like punches and stamps. I don't have the variety I would like to have yet. I think I've done ok for the first month. I mean, even after all the holiday sales and clearance items, I didn't buy as much as I would have otherwise. It may seem like a lot but it's not, really! I'm happy with my efforts but I think I can do better next month and I will certainly try! I've been using stuff from my stash. I don't go looking for more suppl

Hi WOYWWers! How are you all this week? Doesn't Wednesday sneak up on you so suddenly?! It's ok, I look forward to getting a peek at what you're all up to. A lot of you know I'm working on a Master's degree in Education, so sometimes there is nothing crafty going on on my desk. This week happens to be one of those but I found something to show you anyway! The box is an interesting little item I acquired from my mom. She was going to throw it away. Can you believe it? It used to be filled with chocolates from Venezuela. It was a nice little souvenier from her boss. She ate all the chocolates of course, she shared and they were delicious. But she's not like me with the keeping of containers and things 'I might use.' I really don't know where I got the 'crafty' from lol. The embroidery floss is what I'm gonna be using to make some more crocheted embellishements in between work, school and homework. There's also some stamps I just

Hello everyone! I'll keep it short so we can get around to more desks :) My finished LO from last week: There's a hidden tab for journaling. Another LO I just finished, not so sure if I like it. Might change it a bit later. I re-did my half of the scraproom a bit. I got a new shelf (the black one). Not sure how I like it either...might re-organize it soon. Any constructive opinions welcome :) Oh! If you're feeling generous check out this post and play along :) If you've stumbeled upon this and want to know what WOYWW is all about head over to Julia's blog and find out! Happy WOYWW!

Pay it forward!

I got this wonderful idea from Jude's blog . I promise something hand made by me to the first 5 people to comment on this post. The only catch is that you also have to post this on your blog and offer something hand made to five other people. It must be home made or hand made by you. Isn't it a  wonderful idea? Hope you join in! To keep with the 'generous' theme, sign up here for a chance at winning some unreleased core'dinations core impression cardstock http://pages.email.darice.com/coredinations/p?eKey=ElbcmjBl10ldtElF0XSgE   Love all the good stuff that happens in blogs!

Sweet Birthday

Image
I made this card for my friend's birthday this weekend. Pink is her favorite color :) I was inspired by the Paper Variety's challenge this week. Pink and black and/or white. What a sweet challenge ;)  I flocked and glittered the cupcake, I put some ribbon and pen stitching around the circle. The card is 5 by 5 so you can get an idea of the size. Love that cupcake! It's a double stick dazzle from paperwishes, the papers are making memories, the ribbon is from joann's and the pin is from my shop . Have a great weekend!

Hello Everyone, I haven't been posting on wednesdays for a while now. I've been loosing track of time and wednesdays just fly by! I missed it, and I'm glad to be back! If you've stumbled upon this and want to find out what I'm talking about go visit Julia at The Stamping Ground . She's the queen of the WOYWWers and thanks to her we get to be nosy once a week and look at other blogger's desks! My desk has a layout that I was going to work on but never got to it and eventually it got put away. I recently brought it out again and hopefully next wednesday it will be all done....hopefully.... There's also a crochet pug that I've been working on, it's a gift for a friend. I'll try to take a picture before I give it away. That's all folks! Enjoy your snoop  :)

What I've been up to

Can't believe we're 10 days into the new year already! is time flying by for you too?  I just started school again last week,  so I thought I would show you some stuff I made before it started. Here we go! (it's long but with lots of pictures!) I made these cards for my husband a few weeks ago, but I couldn't show you before his birthday, just in case ;) Love how this one turned out! I tried to keep it simple in this one... I did some masking with pearl shimmer mist in the background but you can't see it here :( I'm entering this in The Paper Variety's challenge this week, their theme is 'snowflakes.'   At the beginning of this month, I also opened a shop on etsy! I've been putting it off for so long, but I wanted to do it for a long time. I started my shop with some pins, but I'll add lots of other stuff eventually :) There's a couple more designs in the shop :) And last but not least, this is

Hello 2011!

Happy New Year to everyone out there! I hope 2011 will bring you more wonderful things and experiences than 2010. This year has gotten off to a great start for me. I just recently became an aunt for the first time (yay!) and I have really gotten more into my crafts. I don't usually do new years resolutions, but I think this year I will make an exception and really stick to this one: Make crafting time every day. It's very hard with work and school, but I will find encouragement out here in blogland :) I came across this post in Julie's blog, check it out at http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com/balzer_designs/art-j.html   Join in anytime! Julie's idea is to inspire people to work on an art journal every day, it can be 5 minutes, 10 minutes or as long as you are able to. Any style and type of journal is welcome, I've seen anything from doodling and sketches to complete journal pages. I like her idea so much because art is such a stress reliever and because my hands j
