Hello Weekend!

Image
I love cork and pearls. I don't know why, but they look so good together!  On the weekends we like to go walk at the local botanical gardens. We tend to look for certain things and animals. Like the one turkey that lives there among the peacocks, ducks and geese. We worry about the turkey if we don't see him one day. Mountain lions, bob cats, coyotes and other wild animals can sneak into the gardens from the nearby mountains.  The peacock on the rock. We walk by the rock each time to see if there's a peacock fanning its tail feathers on top of the rock.    Hope your weekend is wonderful!  This is Weekend Neutrals

Hello! I have a LO and a video to share with you today. I made this using the special materials stacks that are out at Michael's right now. I LOVE play ing with texture and different materials. It gives projects a little something extra ;) Cork embellishments are so in right now. I love making my own using my stamps, dies and punches. Hope you enjoyed the video!

Take me some place nice :)

Who's going to the movies this weekend?! These movie tickets were prizes for my baby shower games. I didn't want to give them in the boring envelope they came in, so I made this.  I love the colors and how happy these papers look. These tickets are about 3x7, so I cut the paper 6.5x7.25  I added a bit on each side so I would have small flaps to fold back and glue.  I decided which side would be the front and punched the tab with a circle punch. I placed the punch less than half way into the paper to end up with the half circle tab.   I added some twine and cut this embellishment out of the stack. I attached it with foam dots to make it pop a bit.  Now this looks like a prize!  This is the DCWV Prism Play stack.

Baby shower decor

Just a few snapshots of my favorite decor pieces used for my baby shower.  A shelf with pictures and monogram:  The stuff on the 2nd shelf are prizes for some of the games.   I'm crafty, so I couldn't just stay out of it.  I made chocolate dipped pretzels as favors:   And masks for the photo booth:    I saw the idea for a 'welcome wagon' on pinterest and it was too cute to pass up...   These are the center pieces for the tables. They turned out so pretty!  These are little center pieces that were displayed on the table along with the bigger center pieces above.  The mushrooms are actually chocolate! So cute, right?! My sister really did an awesome job planning this! Hope these images spark the craftiness in you!

This is my LO for the September Stack-a-holic Challenge over at the  DCWV blog . I used the following stacks:  Quince Blossom, Printed Cork 12x12, Natural Cork 12x12 & Corrugate 6x6. You know what?!   The natural cork and printed cork stacks work super well for die cutting and punching!!! I'm so excited about that! Imagine the possibilities!      On to my LO... I love when my dogs lie down like this... I think the legs look so cute! Puppies usually do this more than older dogs, so I kinda miss it when my dogs stop doing it often.  The journaling for my LO is written in the yellow tag which is tucked in behind the large photo.  I wrote it as a list comparing my dog in 2008 (less than a year old) and today (6 years old). Some things have changed and some have stayed the same.  For example, his tail had some black in it before, but its only brown and white now.  He used to chew everything, but now likes to lick stuff instead  He still does th

Hello Love!

...and Hello September!  This little one should be making an appearance soon :) This is what I see during ultrasounds:  At some point her hand is up there waving and it has been captured in pictures at least these many times. She's always saying 'hello!'  For the title and journaling, I used the 'LOVE' card from one of the cut apart sheets in the DCWV Prism Play Stack.  Then, I used DCWV heart gems to make some of the hearts pop off through out the page. I love how the size of the gems match the size of the hearts on the stack. I wonder if that was done on purpose?!    I have scheduled the majority of posts this month, just in case.  It might take me a while to get back to you if you come visit me. But be sure that I will get back to you eventually :)  Have a great rest of the week!
