For the love of Nature

Image
Hello!  My little girl is a lover of nature and gets super excited at simple things like lady bugs and birds. I decided to document her love of nature, and her first time enjoying nature at night in front of  a bonfire. I used the DCWV Garden Charm stack out at Joann's. I'm loving the variety of floral prints on this stack :)  I've recently set a goal to use up my stash of old pretty things. So I try to use an entire packet of something when possible. Here, I used a packet of old rub-onbs. Yes, the entire pack! I also did a bit of a messy background with paint and a stencil. I layered prints from the stack, vellum, a book page (sprayed with mist), and a doily behind the photo.  The kraft pages in this stack are perfect for fun, busy backgrounds or even mixed media!

In with the Old

When I found my stash of Dear Lizzy from 2012, I decided I really needed to use up my older supplies.  I made this for Shimelle's NSD challenge to make a layout with a messy background.  This was about the time the little one started kicking and laughing a lot. What older supplies have you been using lately?

May Stack-a-holic challenge

A little Reminder about the May Stack-a-holic challenge over at the DCWV blog :)  This is my take on the challenge.   This is my girl's face when we put glasses on her :)  This is my card. These are really great sketches to work with! Give it a try!

Royally Sweet!

Hey everyone!  We went to the County Fair last summer and they had little thrones and props set up in the children's area. We just had to try snapping a photo of our little queen. It was a little tricky to keep her still long enough but we managed! I've had this photo for a while but didn't know which papers to use. I'm glad I waited because the DCWV Scripts and Music Notes Stack worked perfectly! I had a lot of fun layering different pieces from the stack along with other embellishments. She's definitely the Queen Bee at our house!  Who's the queen bee at your house? I hope you're all having a really fun Cinco de Mayo!
